Dog Whisperer Houston's Satisfied Clients
New Testimonial: From Virginia "Gini" Trask, "Sasha" and "Rocky"Cherisse's service exceeded our expectations! Our dogs used to bark at every passerby and were completely unable to be walked. They would pull incessantly at the leash and were very aggressive toward other dogs on the walk. Whenever we would pass by a house with dogs they would go crazy. After only one session with Cherisse they have completely changed. Cherisse showed us how to take control of the situation the way a pack leader in a dog pack would and correct any out of line behavior. The best part is that her methods are completely humane. You can tell that she truly loves dogs and would always want them to be treated with love. She simply teaches dog owners to be gentle but firm. Thank you for everything Cherisse! Warmest Regards

From Ellen Johnston; A husband and wife with a 9 yr. old Springer female,(Mandy)and a new pup(Stan),that Mandy attacked a week prior to my visit. It was very stressful to keep the dogs separated all the time, upstairs and downstairs; and keeping a muzzle on Mandy, and kicking her out of her own bed! Dear Cherisse, Things seem to be better. Mandy is a lot more responsive and Stan - well, Stan is still Stan, but he seems to be paying more attention to me. He learns so quickly, it surprises me. He sleeps in the kennel at night and Mandy is sleeping back in her own bed! They are doing well at co-existing. Mandy usually does not have the muzzle on, but I am still keeping very close when they are together. Thanks, Ellen 09/04/06, Update: Mandy and Stan are doing very well. They can stay together for up to 30 minutes without any aggressive behavior. I still don't trust them completely and they play very rough, but Mandy is doing very well. They can even eat together! We are pleased, but still watching them closely. Thanks again, Ellen Update: 10-12-06 Hope you receive thse pictures okay. We are doing very well. Stan is maturing and acting much better. His potty training has improved 100%. We have had no more disagreements between dogs. Mandy (the Brittany) comes when called, but still needs practice on long distance 'come'. Thanks for everything. ******************************************************* "Dumplin" was clearly a Severe Case of "dog as baby"! The day I got there, Dumplin was 5 months old and had NEVER walked outside on the ground! She had to be dragged a bit (ew! I hate that!) Then she crouched, and FINALLY... she began to take a step or two on bent legs. Before I left, "Mommy" had her up and going! The letter below was just two weeks later! Hello Cherisse!!
Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful advise and teachings you brought to my home October 2nd. It was very surprising to learn all that I did not know about my own dog and how I could actually be a better master for her. I had been putting off getting her training for so long that I could actually see (that day you came to my house and trained Dumplin') where I had let her down by not getting help sooner. You not only reassured me of how smart she really is, but also showed me how much smarter she can be if I just use the right technique of communication.
I am tickled to death each day to see just how fast Dumplin' has learned within such little time. Dumplin' and I are getting to know each other on another level and she definitely respects me a lot more now. Communication with my dog isn't as complicated as I thought it would be
:-) You showed me that!!
I want to thank you again for helping Dumplin' and I for sharing your knowledge with us. If it weren't for you; I would have continued down the wrong path with my beloved dog Dumplin'. She means the world to me and is truly my baby.
Sincerely,
Denise Delffs-Fanyo

Kristen Hughes, Original letter: Hi!
Our Diva (yes, that's her name!) is a 1 1/2 year old German Shepard/Lab mix that we rescued 5 months ago. She was fine the first few weeks, Then... her aggression really startled us!
During obedience class (at Petsmart), she had to be behind the doggy gate because she barked, growled, and lunged at the other dogs. She never did this before! She has been in a dog fight with an off-leash dog (scary!) and the behavior has transferred to delivery people and dad's picking up their kiddos from play dates at our house (embarrassing!)
We have stopped walking her because of all the off-leash dogs in our neighborhood (guilt!!!). I have been told by 2 trainers that her guarding instinct has just taken over. (After watching Cesar, I just cannot accept that this is the case! My kids and I watch Dog Whisperer every chance we get, but must be missing something?)
My dad (who has a brain tumor) is coming to visit from Virginia on Friday, and I'm a nervous wreck. Do you think you can help us? I realize that we may not be able to make this happen before Friday, but something has to be done eventually.
Kirsten Hughes Update, three days later:
I just wanted you to know that Diva is paying much more attention to me on walks ~ one correction and she is totally focused! She also waited at the bus stop, about 10 feet from a whiney little dog (I'm not ready to get closer ~ yet!) without barking, laying down. Two of the kid's dads were at the bus stop patting her as they talked (yea!)
She did OK with my dad in the house. Kirsten [DWH's Note: This dog was SOOOO stressed out on walks, that it took me several attempts to settle her down; She Even tried to take a chunk out of my hand, and put a good, toothy, bruise on my right thigh! I'm SO proud of Diva, now! No matter WHAT your problem, we can SOLVE IT!] :):):) *******************************************************

"Guthrie" - Susie Bartles 9-26-06
This little fellow was biting his owner and in total control of the relationship. He was fear agressive on walks, trying to 'kill' whatever came his way!
Guthrie is pretty good now when walking past other dogs who are either on the sidewalk or in their yards. I often have to correct him, but he then starts behaving.
He is generally not biting me. That's really a very
rare occurrence. He more often will give a bratty little "arrgh" when, for example, he doesn't want to
be picked up. I always correct him very firmly, and he shapes right up.
Thanks, Susie

Original email:
Cherisse, My name is Maryann and I have three dogs. Two of my dogs I have had for 9 years. I have just recently picked up a stray dog and I need a game plan... each dog is great one on one...but together they all want my attention. The Yorkie has some barking issues...and I need help just getting the new dog to stop jumping on me. Nothing I try seams to help. I feel she (CoCo) is still very insecure, which I can understand, as she and Kim fought at the beginning. They all jump on the back door to get in, and I would like to get them all to eat at the same time.
Update @ 2 Weeks : Cherisse has help me so much with introducing a new dog into my already existing pack of two dogs. Although the dogs are very sweet, CoCo (the new dog) and Kim would get into it occasionally. Cherisse helped me with a game plan to work on each day. It has been only two weeks, but all three are eating together. They have learned to wait for me to enter the door. Since one of my goals is to be able to walk all three dogs together; I can already now walk two dogs together and occasionally all three for about 10 minutes. I also have two cats, which I have been working on introducing to CoCo. When I feel I have gotten in over my head, I have been able to call Cherisse and she will give me advice and tell me the most important thing to remember; for me to remain Top Dog. The Dog Whisperer Houston techniques really work. There is such a difference in myself and all my dogs. They are dogs again. (Above is a picture of all three dogs. (Dusty, CoCo, and Kim)
Maryann
Update at 4 Weeks:
I have really enjoyed learning how to train my dogs. I feel I have made great progress. Thanks for your help and encouragement! Thanks for everything. You have help me so much. Especially the encouraging words. CoCo does still get fixated on Kim...but now I can spot it and put an end to it before it gets out of control.

From: Allison Culver; Who had issues with newly adopted “Pete” who was terrorizing their cat by chasing it all over the house, cornering it behind the sofa, and barking non-stop!: Pete was also a problem walker with constant pulling on the leash.
Cherisse – Thank you for coming into our lives. We have valued all of your instruction, and in just one day Pete is walking just fine with no pull or correction. He thinks he has a job now, and on our walk to the vet’s office and back, he was perfect. Just knowing how to correct him meant the world. He whines so much less; and Sunday we went to the park and he swam!!! We have challenged both Pete and the cat……. Cherisse, the cat does not run and hide she stays there and purrs!!! We’re getting there! Thank you for your direction. Allison Culver, Thomas Culver, Bob, Pete, Sugar and Diva!
